#512 “Swap Meat” – Revised Casting Call
[GARY]
17 years old, physicality is extremely important for this role, GARY NEEDS TO BE THIN, THIN, THIN, and needs to be very likeable and appealing. Ideally he’s like the character “McLovin” from “Superbad” or Anthony Michael Hall in “16 Candles.” Puny, gawky, bespectacled, smart and geeky, he’s a naive, amateur Satanist who works at a fast food joint and longs to break free from his wealthy, stifling parents. He’s granted one of his wishes, and starts to live the life he’s always wanted. Please denote age next to your suggestions. GUEST STARSource : SpoilerTV.Com
Uncle Bobby Will Be In Episode #514 !!!
Jen : Well Jim Beaver has just confirmed to the website MovieWeb.Com, that he’ll be in episode #514 so… Will Bobby die in episode #510 ? Will he come back as a ghost ? Or as himself ? Are the angels the ones that’ll bring him back ? We totally don’t know about this as Jim kept his lips sealed on that, but we now know that even if he happens to die in episode #510 he’ll be back 04 episodes later !!! (Or maybe he won’t die period !!) That’s a great info that has totally made my day ! Here you go…
MovieWeb.Com : It’s interesting that you guys went with a poker episode for Halloween. Can you talk about that decision and how the episode plays into the spirit of the Holiday?
Jim Beaver: I’m not too privy to how they make these decisions. Of course, we shot this episode back in September. I wasn’t even thinking about Halloween then. The fact is, this is Supernatural. Every episode is a Halloween episode. I don’t know if there was any particular conscious decision made to connect this episode to Halloween. I guess I’m not much help there.
Are you an avid poker player yourself? Were you able to bring your skills to the set?
Jim Beaver: No. And no. (Laughs) I like to play poker, but I am terrible at it. Probably because I only play once every five or ten years. The only time I ever won money playing poker was in Vietnam. That’s because we had a rocket attack in the middle of the game, and I happened to be up forty bucks. That’s not typical.
Who do you think is a better player? Bobby or Whitney Ellsworth?
Jim Beaver: Boy, that’s a hard one to answer. I would like to think Bobby was better. But from the evidence of this week’s episode, you’ll see that Bobby is not as good as the person he is playing against. I think that Ellsworth could take Bobby. I don’t know. It might be a draw.
In the spirit of the holiday season, can you tell us what you guys have cooked up for Thanksgiving and Christmas? Or might we see another winter holiday get the Supernatural treatment this year?
Jim Beaver: I have no idea what they have lined up. I think I have managed to miss all of the Christmas episodes. I haven’t been in any of them. Not that I can remember. They are pretty tight lipped about what is coming up. I have a sense of what is happening in episode fourteen, because I am in that one. If it relates to any various holidays, I haven’t got a clue. I am clueless about a lot of stuff as you’ll find out.

#507 Review By Jenny
A Girl’s Point Of View — In a general way, I liked the episode even though I’m kinda getting tired of “Stand-aloners”… Damn, it’s the Apocalypse, aren’t we supposed to deal with the 04 horsemen of the Apocalypse, the angels, the demons ? The Archangels, HELL LUCIFER !
I get it… Kripke wants this season to be funny cause he doesn’t want the fans to get depressed watching hell on earth (Literally)… But can’t we just… I don’t know… Move on a little bit maybe ?
We did not see any angels since the beginning of the season… Well okay that’s not entirely true… I mean yeah we saw Cas but he’s lost his mojo, he’s not the same powerful angel he was back in the S04, we also saw Zachariah but his appearances have only last… I don’t know – All in all – 04 mins maybe ? Okay we’ve met Raphael the Archangel, and that was great but huh… What happened to him ? Last time we saw him he was trapped because of Cas… You’re telling me… The guy doesn’t want revenge ? Seriously ! I miss the parts where Cas was receiving the revelations, I miss the S04 ! Com’on guys ! We need some angelic actions here !
Oh and we’ve been introduced to “War” back in the #502 ! One of the 04 horsemen, where the hell is he ? What about his ring ? What about the other three horsemen ?
Look I know, I know, we can’t focus the show only on the Angels but at least we could see them more don’t you think ? Don’t mean to blame the writers on that but seriously guys, now it’s time to move on !
WTS – I gotta admit, that episode was great, I mean yeah it was funny (Probably the funniest one so far ?!) And it was more focused on Bobby and we needed to know how he was holding up after what happened to him so that was really great to have some news from him, even though he totally broke my heart when he said he was useless, that has made me cry a lot ! I don’t want him to feel useless, and I get it, I understand why he feels this way but that’s not true, Bobby is a real “Father Figure” for the boys and just like Dean said in the end of the episode, they’re family, they need him around !! I really don’t want him to feel depressed… Hope he’ll feel better in the coming episodes cause seeing him like this… Well… That tears me down !
As for Hal Ozsan, he was awesome, and so was Pascale Hutton ! (She’s very beautiful BTW !) The guy was badass and the girl was sensitive… That was perfectly balanced if you ask me…
Now, Sam… Well SAM IS THE MAN ! He saved the day that was something pretty cool to see ! And funny too, considering the fact that we know Jared is an AWESOME Poker player in the real life (Hell, if I recall… The guy won the celebrity poker tournament on 2006, right ?!) ! So seeing him playing an amateur that was pretty funny…
As for Chad Everett, dude I just love that man ! He was an awesome “Older-Version” of Dean, I really wish he would have stuck around for a little while longer, he was making “Oldness” fun ! Oh and I laughed my ass off when he confused acid reflux with a heart attack LOL
I guess that’s pretty much what I could say about that episode, next week the trickster’s back ! Here comes trouble… And another “Stand-Alone” episode too but huh… That’s okay we’re used to it now, right ? LOL

Q&A : Jim Beaver Talks ‘Supernatural’
/!\ SPOILERS /!\
Jen : Jim’s been interviewed by the website DigitalSpy.com (BTW – Thanks to our friend & affiliate website SpoilerTV.Com for the heads up) There you go :
This week’s episode is a big one for Bobby – he ends up getting in a bit of trouble. Can you talk us through what happens?
Jim Beaver : “Bobby basically decides to engage in a very high stakes game of poker which has a drastic affect on his age. Sam and Dean have to run in and save him from the fire.”
I’ve read elsewhere that you’re going to be in more episodes this season than any other season. Does this mean Bobby is going to be quite pivotal?
Jim Beaver : “I don’t know if pivotal is the word I would use. There’s nothing in the scripts I have read so far that I would describe as ‘pivotal’ for Bobby. I think the next episode is an important one for Bobby in terms of storytelling. Also episode ten is powerful and the fans will be left reeling.”
Does this mean the usually level-headed Bobby might start getting a bit reckless as he battles his frustration at not being able to walk?
Jim Beaver : “I don’t know about reckless, I hadn’t looked at it that way before. I definitely think he is frustrated and angry because of his limitations. He can’t just go running into battle any more. There’s an episode coming up where the others are off fighting and he is stuck at home manning the telephones. I think it will also affect Sam and Dean as well because they are used to seeing him a certain way.”
Bobby’s been in a wheelchair for a few episodes now. How are you finding that experience?
Jim Beaver : “It’s been a challenge but I’ve only been doing it for a few episodes so it’s still quite fun. I like rolling around and doing wheelies on set and stuff. But I do take this very seriously. I can get out of the chair at the end of the day and go home and I recognize that, so many people can’t and I have to be considerate to them and respect that.”
